Who Are We?

At the most basic level we are a Club. This means the members have come to know each other fairly well and have respect for each other. We also like each other and have a lot of good times together. Our families and friends are involved in many of our activities. We are even allowed out sometimes. Our membership has always fluctuated between 20 and 30 but we want many more members. Unusually for a Rotary Club, about two-thirds of our members are women.

More importantly though, we are a Rotary Club and part of the international Rotary family. Our Club is one of more than 33,000 Rotary Clubs in 200 countries. Politics, origins, religions and gender issues remain outside of Rotary. What we have in common are the ideals encapsulated in Rotary maxims such as Service above self and They profit most who serve best. Some of the things we do as a Rotary Club are mentioned in our showcase page.To learn more about Rotary see our about Rotary page.

The current office bearers and committee chairs of our Club may be found here.

The Rotary Club of Macarthur Sunrise was chartered on 5th April 1995 by the Rotary Club of Campbelltown.

Our past presidents are here.

The following Macarthur personalities have been recognised as Paul Harris Fellows as a result of outstanding community service or by reason of their Rotary commitment.

Another annual award our Club makes is called the Wal Turner Quiet Achiever Award. It is named for the late Wal Turner, a rotarian with the Rotary Club of Campbelltown who worked tirelessly for the establishment of our Club. Wal was a dedicated Rotarian and without his knowledge, advice and support our Club would not have been. Recipients of the Wal Turner Quiet Achiever Award are listed here.
