MICRO-BUSINESS

By establishing a micro-business environment we educate the people to learn to save, learn to work for their own benefits and develop and sustainable existence. They learn to manage their money and reap benefits.

HOW IT WORKS
A pod is established. This could be a person or group of people willing to trade. They promote the Solar Light and establish a demand for the product.
They then sell lights to the public by either a single payment or by establishing a “hire-purchase” arrangement. The pod takes a small margin as profit to create the business. If hire-purchase is used a funding capability would need to be established through the Rotary club. This could start quite small and enlarge as confidence grows. There is a definable risk at this point. A combination of single payment and hire-purchase alleviates some of the risk. To establish the business some seed funding may be necessary.
Also to establish interest some lights may need to be donated to the pods.

STEP BY STEP PROCESS

  1. Create a RAWCS project within your Rotary club. Register it with RAWCS.
  2. Align with a Rotary club in developing country. (If no Rotary club try another NGO or group). Tell them about the opportunities.
  3. Have the foreign club set up Micro-Business pods and provide training.
  4. Buy lights from Sutherland Rotary Club
  5. Sell lights to overseas club (plus small admin fee).
  6. Have overseas club on sell the lights to the micro-business pods (plus small admin fee).
  7. Monitor the progress.
  8. Grow the business –
    1. Establish more pods with that Rotary club.
    2. Establish more overseas club alignments.
  9. Establish more pods.

“SHARE THE LIGHT”

Buy some lights - Get started!

By participating in this wonderful enterprise we help people learn, develop and grow healthier. We create a sharing capability by each helping the micro-business grow which will, in turn, create other business opportunities.
