RanFurley Library

Lady Ranfurley was apparently the wife of the (British) Governor of Bermuda, perhaps some time in the 1950s.

The good lady was troubled by the lack of library and text books in local schools at that time and so developed this program where schools 'back home' might send their surplus materials to the poorer struggling island states.

As they say, the rest is history. Books collected by our club are taken to the dispatch centre, screened for inappropriate materials, the good ones packed into containers for Pacific Island countries and the left-overs sent for paper recycling.

Ross Horne is the long-time organiser of this club's Ranfurley efforts
