Rotary Club of Northbridge History

Since the Northbridge Club was formed in 1983, many things have been achieved. The list below, though far from complete, give some indication of the ways the club helps the community:

  • Funded the Australian Cord Blood Bank with donations exceeding $2 million
  • Arranged for permanent lighting of the Cammeray/Northbridge bridge
  • Donated a $26,000 van to Streetworks to help youth in the Chatswood area.
  • Erected ‘Trees for Survival’ shelters at Northbridge, Castle Cove and Artarmon Primary Schools where the children grow seedlings and plant them in rural areas
  • Ran Charity Golf Days
  • Supported Tongan Diabetes Campaign
  • Donated a $20,600 mobile community command post to NSW Police at Chatswood.
  • Erected Tree of Joy – An annual collection of toys to brighten the lives of children, donated to:
  • The Salvation Army
  • St Vincent de Paul Society
  • The Smith Family
