Matching grant opportunity

Dear Rotary friends,

I have been approached, by Binod Khaitan, to find partners for a substantial, $15k+ matching grant application.

Binod is Chairman - Rotary Leadership Institute Eastern India & Nepal, & Regional Vice Chairman - RLI South Asia (Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India and Sri Lanka).

Binod has provided a list of Rotary or Rotary supported Hospitals in the District, as well as potential supporting Rotary Clubs in District 3290. This is available from this link

If your Club or District is interested in partnering the opportunity to provide simple to use, lens-free ophthalmoscopes, engraved “Donated by Rotarians”, and help make blindness history for so many, please do contact  me in the first instance.

Many thanks,

Stephen, Stevenage Grange RC, District 1260

PS Since writing about the prospect of a Matching Grant for India I have been persuaded to mock up a worked example showing the benefits of linking Club & District (DDF) funding in the process.  In essence if supported by all parties, a A$500 donation could yield 7 times that in true value to developing countries. The example is now available at

Forgive me if some of your viewers are already aware of the benefits ... but many aren't.
