Prayer for Peace

God of the nations look upon the lands devastated by war and natural calumniates
show us the way to peace and tranquillity,
Remove hatred from our hearts and vengeance from our memories
Soften our hardened hearts and fill them with mercy and love,
So as to help the needy and those who suffer from natural disasters.

Turn our guns into ploughs and our bombs into bread,
Give us the wisdom and will to end all terrorism and war
whether in land far or near
or even in the confines of families and communities.
Help us to remember that we are one world and one family,

Grant this, oh Lord , through the intercession
of all peacemakers of all times and places
especially those who suffered persecutions and death
for the sake of justice and peace.
Amen
