MESSAGE FROM JENNY HORTON - 27 APRIL 2007

Hi All,

We are in the middle of campaign here,  I have decided I am getting too old for this……40 degrees and up and down 8 story buildings without elevator and very dark stairwells ….yesterday 3 buildings to find one child!     Teams do this all day…..really they need our greatest thanks for their work.    The teams are the backbone to this program and here are mainly Lady Health Workers or volunteers (who are usually poor and will work for 150PKR per day….most will not do it).      It is only April and the heat is terrible…..May and June campaigns will be worse especially with the humidity.

Lets pray the low season hard work pays off.

Regards to all

Jenny

MESSAGE FROM JENNY HORTON - 13 APRIL 2007

Hi All,

Another update…..life here is hectic….Still snowed under with work and a campaign coming again in just 10 days,  I am actually writing a proposal to TAG to get the May campaign a little later as one every 4 weeks is just too much.    For the first 7  months of this year we have a campaign every month….

Home today due to protests and violence from 2 areas……1 the lawyers are still protesting about the sacking of the CJ by the president….today his appeal was being heard so this has inflamed all…….also there are areas of support and protest for/against the new Taliban party .

Take care and pray for success this year with our polio eradication.

Jenny

MESSAGE FROM JENNY HORTON - 9 APRIL 2007

Hi to all,

Suddenly we started to receive these again…so am taking the liberty to share this with you.

Here in Pakistan we are just completing our sub national campaign today and already we start for the next one next week as it starts 24th April.   This coming round includes Vitamin A supplementation which is essential ,  especially at this time of the year when we have many measles cases.

Since this was released we have a  7th polio case in Pakistan.

Funding remains a major issue in completion,   please remember Polio Plus and Polio Plus Partners in your  club and with DDF.

Regards and thanks for the interest.

Jenny
