Dear Rotary Leaders:
Rotary International President-elect Dong Kurn Lee
recently said he was in disbelief when he learned that
30,000 children under the age of five die every day from preventable
diseases such as pneumonia, diarrhea, measles, and malaria.
Recently, at the International Assembly he told the
incoming 2008-09 district governors that Rotary will keep the service
emphases of recent years -- water, health and hunger, and literacy --
but Lee asked the DGs to focus their efforts - in those
areas - on children.
The March 15th Our Foundation focuses on
“Children and Hunger” and a program called REACH (Renewed Efforts
Against Child Hunger). Please see pages 1 to7.
