On 7 September 2007 John Glassford reported as follows:

"I have uploaded some photos of the summit of Kilimanjaro to the Kili

http://www.coolamonrotary.com/kili/index.html

The banner was made for us by the Rotary Club of Nairobi.

I was unable to make it to Uhuru Point but made Stella Point 5756 metres.

The following Rotarians made it to Uhuru Point:

Sharon Daishe Rotary Club of Forbes Ipomoea
Bob Kendell Rotary Club of Lockhart
Peter Sparks Rotary Club of Griffith Avanti
Mark Horton Rotary Club of Dubbo
Craig Corrigan Rotary Club of Coolamon

The following Rotarians made it to Stella Point:

Tim Jenkinson Rotary Club of Horsham
John Glassford Rotary Club of Coolamon

All in all a great effort with ALL 7 Rotarians in the team of 16
making it to one of the two highest points in Africa and receiving a
certificate from the Tanzanian National Parks who operate and look
after Kilimanjaro.

ALL the climbers in the team of 16 have raised funds for RFFA and the
other two beneficiaries

Most important is Anna Khuzwayo a Zulu lady living in a shack in the
township of Imizamo Yethu in Hout Bay Cape Town.  Anna made it to
Stella Point.  Anna is an AIDS counsellor for her people in the
township and we will have a photo of her at Stella Point I hope.  An
amazing lady."

Congratulations to Gold Coast climber Mandy Watson who reached the summit
of Uhuru Point at 5895 metres.  Afterwards Mandy joined  the team  in Hout Bay for R&R
with the Rotary Club of Hout Bay.  She returned to the Gold Coast on 6 September and
at a later date will be reporting on her experiences)
