A Sustainable Solution to Global Malnutrition
LearnuGrow is an international project helping people in
developing countries to become self-sufficient in food production
by focussing on local food plants that are adapted to local
conditions and thrive naturally. Supported by a unique
database of over 20,000 edible plants, this inspirational
solution can be readily applied in any country in the world.

The Learn Grow project continues to create international interest within and without Rotary International.  There are now four Rotary districts involved in the development of Learn Grow programs assisting developing nations address malnutrition and food security.  Three of these districts are Australian but we are pleased to have one district in the USA also involved.  If we can continue to increase this involvement it will enable Rotary to make a tangible contribution to the Millennium Development Goals, particularly goals 1, 4 and 5 by reducing malnutrition, reducing child mortality and improving maternal health.

We are pleased to be holding dedicated breakout session in Montreal to increase awareness of this project among Rotarians internationally.   If you are attending the Montreal Convention we would be very pleased to see you at this breakout and also at our display at the Health and Hunger Resource Group Booth #1905 in the House of Friendship.

We hope to enhance our communication with you in the coming year.

 Yours in Rotary Service
