Club History.

The Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads Inc., was Chartered by the Rotary Club of Southport on 3rd October 1955, but due to delays the Charter was not presented until 9th April 1956.

The ceremony was conducted by the District Governor (Sir) Lionel McCrae with 22 members at Justin Hall, on the site of the ANZ Bank. Our club was responsible for the formation of Rotary Clubs at Palm Beach in 1976 and Mudgeeraba in 1980.

Achievements include the Classification Pole, The Justins Park Rotunda, The Burleigh Esplanade Barbecue, Heather Street Park, and a Wishing Well at Burleigh Town Centre.

Ongoing projects include:

1. Charity Golf Day
2. Christmas Carols by  the Beach
3. Pride of Workmanship Awards, Bowelscan
4. Winter Solstice Fair
5. Summer Solstice Fair
6. Provision of Christmas Hampers to the less fortunate

Support has been provided to both Primary and High Schools, Aid Projects at the Philippines and Indonesia, as well as numerous Youth programmes and local charities.

The Club has always been ready to assist in many Local, National and International Projects.
