Toowoomba City Rotary Club has an ongoing commitment to YEP. This program offers opportunities for the club to "further international goodwill and understanding". We endeavour to sponsor an outbound student each year and bring inbound students to Toowoomba. Host families and student councillor are the main roles undertaken by club members. Students come to Toowoomba from many parts of the world and spend about 3-4 months with each host family.
We are an active supporter of the Nation Youth Science Forums held in Canberra each Janurary. Applications are called from students entering Year 12 with special interests in science. We try to conduct joint interviews with other Toowoomba Rotary Clubs. Students we have sponsored have thoroughly enjoyed the Forums and gained insights into possible scientific careers.
This camp for 18-25 year olds is promoted each year. Leadership and personal development are the focus of the camp.
We promote this camp each year, and distribute application forms to schools in Toowoomba. This camp is open to students aged 16-18 years, and has an emphasis on personal enrichment and teamwork.
This is run in Janurary each year, and open to students entering year 11.
