International Service Program

The Rotary Club of Mitchelton supports a wide range of international service projects.
These include:
Undertaking joint programs with the Rotary Club of Rabaul in Papua New Guinea.

Providing financial and personnel support to:
Kits for Kids, which provides educational materials to students in the Pacific Islands;

Computers for Kids, to provide recycled computers to needy students and families in Australia and the Pacific Islands;

Donations in Kind, which organizes the delivery of shipping containers of school and hospital equipment to the pacific Islands;

Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC), which brings children with life threatening and disfiguring medical conditions to Brisbane for medical treatment, and;

Interplast, which enables medical specialists to visit sites in South East Asia and the Pacific Islands to provide expert medical treatment and training at local medical facilities.

Matching Grants are undertaken in co-operation with other Rotary Clubs and the Rotary Foundation to provide funds for worthwhile projects in the Pacific Islands.
Currently, we are funding the provision of Water tanks to the Duke of York Islands, off New Britain in Papua New Guinea.
Many of these projects are undertaken in conjunction with clubs in District 9600.
Refer to Rotary District 9600 link for more information.
