To Mt Tamborine - the Diary of a Rambling Rotarian

It's off to Tamborine this year

Collected bus and arrived at Ron & Cath's in good time. Thought we were going to be late leaving when Lex & Marian hadn't arrived by 7 am. However, they redeemed themselves by turning up with a basket of freshly baked muffins - good tucker for a cold morning. They were really anticipating a cold start to the day - Lex with his slippers and Marian with her blanket and pillow! Collected Merewyn at Nanango - also prepared for the cold with gloves.

Tour leader Ron and group captain Geoff had us wondering when we turned off the highway at Esk to savour the delights of the back blocks. Stopped in Laidley to allow Merewyn to meet up with Stan (had come all the way from NSW to spend the weekend with us....). Started off on the right foot by presenting her with red roses.

Had a delightful morning tea in Laidley at friends of Ron & Cath - great scones with all the trimmings - very much appreciated, Jenny & Fay.

Ended up taking the scenic route from Laidley to Canungra - via Rosevale & Aratula! Tour leader Ron now known as Wrong Way Ron. A woman relaxing on her farmhouse verandah waved at us - was she laughing as we passed, knowing we'd missed our turn? Great view of the mountains though.
