ROTARY CLUB OF YEPPOON                      

Meets every Thursday 6.00pm for 6.30pm start at the Keppel Bay Sailing Club, Anzac Parade, Yeppoon.

Club Profile

Established in 1959, the Rotary Club of Yeppoon has a distinguished history of community service to the Capricorn Coast Region of Central Queensland.

The club is part of District 9570 and has met in various venues within Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast since its charter.

With 40 members (1/1/05) the club has been a consistent and significant contributor to the Rotary Foundation.   It prides itself on being a 100% Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) club.

In 2000 the club facilitated the District 9570 conference (one of the District's most successful!) at the Rydges Capricorn Resort in Yeppoon.

Two major on-going projects keep club members reasonably active.  One being the "Birdwood Estate" village of 24 units (to be expanded to 31 during 2004) for low income community members.  The other is the conduct of an Art Festival over the "May Day" long weekend each year.  This festival attracts artisans from all over Australia with $11,000 in prize monies.
