Rotary Club of Somerton Park

The Rotary Club of Somerton Park was chartered by Rotary International in April 1988. We are one of the three only Breakfast Clubs in District 9520, with meetings starting at 7.00am each Tuesday and finishing promptly at 8.15am. A short period of each meeting is allocated for urgent club business but the majority of the meeting time is dedicated to hearing an interesting guest speaker and great fellowship.

Obviously everyone cannot be expected to attend each week; this is understood and accepted.

Some of the activities of the Rotary Club of Somerton Park include:

  • Participating with other local Rotary clubs in "Roadwatch Cleanup".
  • Assisting local youth attending National Science and Technology Forums.
  • Giving ongoing support and encouragement to employees of a local sheltered workshop.
  • Active involvement in environmental projects such as the "Million Trees" programme.

Of course it’s not all work! We have a strong social program and members and their families are encouraged to be involved. We consider that service and social interaction are of equal importance, and that Rotary should be fun!
