What Is Rotary?

  • Rotary International is more than one million men and women around the world.
  • These Rotarians are serving people in your community and communities worldwide..
  • Rotary International fosters world peace through personal service.
  • The motto of Rotary is "Service Above Self".

What Makes Rotary Unique?

  • THE FOUR WAY TEST
    1. Is it the Truth?
    2. Is it fair to all concerned?
    3. Will it build goodwill & better friendships?
    4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
  • MEMBERSHIP CLASSIFICATIONS
    1. Limited Membership within a given vocation fosters wide variety of members.
    2. Meeting attendance is tracked and is critical to retaining membership.
    3. Membership is through invitation and sponsorship of another Rotarian
  • COMMITMENT TO SERVICE ABOVE SELF
    1. Rotarians provide hands-on and financial help to their local community
    2. Local Rotary clubs join other Rotary clubs around the world for service projects.
  • FOUR AVENUES OF SERVICE
Rotarians may choose how they want to share their talents by providing their own
"service above self" through one or more of these Rotary Avenues of Service:

    1. Vocational Service
Activities that acknowledge and extend knowledge of all vocations.
    2. International Service
There are thousands of Rotary projects around the globe.
    3. Club Service
Fellowship and other activities within the club membership.
    4. Community Service
Activities that provide opportunities for members to serve their own community.
