KUNUNURRA CLIMATE
The region, lying in the sub tropics, receives an annual average rainfall of 740 mm from the monsoonal rains, which fall between November and March, during the "Wet". At this time, the heavy clouds release their burden of flooding water and many rivers, swollen and angry, race through the gorges and out over the plains in their haste to the sea. Cliff faces glitter with waterfalls, the country bursts into green growth, and grass and flowers emerge turning the land into a contrast of colour.

The "Dry" extending from April to September, is a period of rainless blue skies with day temperatures of low 30's, relatively cool evenings and brilliant sunsets, providing a perfect setting for those seeking new experiences and warmer climes.

April to September are the best months for the traveller to visit Kununurra.

You are welcome to our club at any time of the year,
you will enjoy Kununurra and the Rotary fellowship

This club raises some $20,000 each year for community and other purposes.

Main fund raising projects require members to work for and support the -
  Local Festival,
Rodeo,
Mardi Gras,
Agricultural Show and
Eneuresis Programme

The nearest club is Katherine, 500 kms to the east.
The next is Derby some 1000 kms to the west.
There are not many occasions when members can visit other clubs or obtain Make-Ups
The opportunity to meet and welcome visiting Rotarians is therefore gratefully appreciated.
