email rotarnet@rotarydownunder.com.au for more information

hosting domains on the rdu server

You can now host your domain name on the Rotary Down Under server for the low low cost of $150pa (payable in advance). This option allows you to have more than one email address.

Not only does this give you economical hosting that continues to benefit Rotary Down Under, but you will still receive all the benefits of being on the Rotarnt web site.

We will also, if you wish, maintain the URL of rotarnet.com.au/clubname and divert it to your new site.

Your first cheque will be for $175 as it includes a one-off admin fee, and of course, should we purchase the domain name on your behalf then that also has to be paid for. Please email rotarnet@rotarydownunder.com.au for more information

How do I join rotarnet

Complete a subscription form

Submit the form (online - you will require a credit card) or print and post/fax to Rotary Down Under PO Box 779 Parramatta NSW 2124

Your form will be forwarded to Nepean Blue and we will 'activate' the passwords and the e-mail divert and forward the user id and password to you.

Nepean Blue will send you a basic template in WORD if you wish and also a File transfer program which allows you to transfer information from your computer to the server's computer. We will it talk you through transferring your information when you are ready. e-mail rotarnet@rotarydownunder.com.au or phone (02) 4739 4987

How much will it cost? The annual hosting fee for a website on Rotarnet.com.au is $75. When you join there is a one off fee of $25, so your fist cheque (payable to Rotary Down Under) is for $95. You will receive a reminder when your next year's subscriptionis due
Your web address

Your web address will be http://rotarnet.com.au/Yourclub.

To provide this address we place a simple page in the main body of Rotarnet which contains just your club name and the rotary wheel. This page diverts automatically to your pages which are housed in - a folder called users/9/yourclubnumber.

e-mail divert

We also provide an e-mail divert of yourclub@rotarnet.com.au which is 'pointed' to a member's e-mail. The member's e-mail can be changed when necessary.

A password and user id enabling you to access your space on rotarnet will be emailed to you using the email divert.

At this moment there is no limit on space, though we do ask you to 'housekeep' your site regularly.

how long will it take?

Usually it takes just a few days from Rotary Down Under's receipt of your payment to you receiving your password and user id. We use the club@rotarnet.com.au e-mail divert to send you the information to check that the divert is working.

When we 'activate' your 'space' we put a page with an 'awaiting club site' statement. You should delete this and all other files in your space when you load your own site.

You can complete the basic WORD template provided there is a space on the subscription form to request a template - or, please e-mail). We will talk you through any problems - just e-mail (rotarnet@rotarydownunder.com.au) or phone (02) 4739 4987.

You can ask anyone to design your site from the local school through to a club member or a professional design house.

When using a non club member or non-Rotarian to design your site, please remember that sooner or later someone in the club will need to update the pages - therefore you must have the program to open them.

If the home page of your site is not called index.htm please you MUST let us know what it is called.

Please also, the home page of your site must be loose in your folder on rotarnet - if you load your site inside a folder then we need to know because the path to the home page will be different.

How do I put my web site onto rotarnet?

There are several programs which will transfer your site. We use WSFTP (which is very simple) and will e-mail you this program if you need it.

When you have your password and user id, you can set up the WSFTP program. If you need help, please call us e-mail (rotarnet@rotarydownunder.com.au) or phone (02) 4739 4987.
