Peter Ruehl writes a three-times weekly humour and satire column for the Australian Financial Review, which he began in 1986.  Prior to that, Ruehl, an American, was a reporter for The Baltimore Sun, covering politics and courts.

His articles have appeared in the International Herald Tribune, USA Today, the Boston Globe, Washington Post, (Melbourne) Age and News Ltd.  He is the author of "American Down Under" (1992).

Ruehl lives in Sydney with his Australian wife, Jennifer, and three children, the oldest of whom, Mercedes, 18, is in Italy this year in the Rotary exchange program.
